J'Tone ... The Actor

J’Tone’s acting career begn in the 1950s where, after joining the Actors Extra Guild during a brief stay in California, he was employed as an extra and also served as stuntman/stunt double in many TV westerns that were popular at that time.

 

After returning to his Philadelphia roots – and refining his acting skills at the urging of Hollywood mogul John Derek – J'Tone landed his first starring role, as Alfieri in “View From the Bridge.” That launched a career on stage that continues today, as J’Tone nears his 80th birthday.

 

 

Among the roles he has played in his illustrious career:

 

  • Lenny in “Of Mice and Men”

  • Duke of Venice/Lodovico in “Othello”

  • Fabrice in “Nude With Violin”

  • Shamreyev in “The Seagull”

  • The bartender in “They Used to be Stars”

  •  

In addition, he continued to be casted in leading stage roles in more than 87 productions nationwide. “My Fair Lady,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “Annie,” “Man of LaMancha,” ad “The Sound of Music” are just  few of the big-name shows he has starred in.

 

As a long-standing member of the Screen Actors Guild and AFTRA, J’Tone also became a well-known character actor in TV and films.
